PTO Information

Ladera Elementary School 2017-2018 PTO Information Packet Welcome to Ladera Elementary School and to the 2017-2018 school year! At Ladera, we are proud to be dedicated to excellence in education and committed to our community and to the future of our children. Ladera is truly one of the best elementary schools in the district, with outstanding teachers, staff and our principal, Dr. Jennifer Harrison.

The Ladera Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to invite you to join the PTO and participate in our 7th annual Play it Forward Pledge Drive. The PTO is a way for parents and teachers to work together towards the common goal of providing a great learning environment for all our students. Each year, the PTO provides many valuable resources, teaching materials, programs and supplies to our students. The following are just a few of the resources and programs that the PTO will support this year: Our S.T.E.A.M. Lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), Two (2) Multi-Tiered Support Providers, Technology Enhancements, a credentialed P.E. Teacher, Aide and Program, Art Teacher and Program, Assemblies, Field Trips, Supplemental Classroom Materials, Classroom Supplies and so much more. In addition, one of our main goals this year is to raise funds to replace our three playgrounds with safe, fun, interactive, and updated equipment.

The public funding that our school receives from TUSD does not provide money for many of Ladera’s programs and specialized teachers. Without your support, we may be forced to eliminate or reduce these valuable resources and programs. By joining the PTO you are helping to bridge the gap between the TUSD funds we receive from the state and what we actually need to continue these necessary programs that benefit every child at Ladera.

We are asking for a 100% tax-deductible donation of $275 per student (this amounts to less than $1/day!). This can be donated as a one-time gift at the beginning of the year, or over 10 monthly payments (Sept-June 2018). Donations of $275 or more will be acknowledged by a permanent tile, that you decorate, to be placed on Ladera’s “Wall of Fame”.

Last year we raised over $49,000 from the direct giving pledge drive. This year we will work hard to exceed that goal which will allow us to continue all of the great programs we currently offer and to explore new programs and activities to help our children grow. Together we can ensure that our children will receive the best, well-rounded elementary education available. Let’s work together for 100% participation.

Enclosed is the PTO Membership and Pledge Drive Packet. The packet includes more information about the Pledge Drive and the PTO Membership Form. Please read through the packet, fill out the Membership Form and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday, September 29th. We only need one packet returned per family.
