Cassandra Young, SDC Preschool

Dear Ladera Families,

My name is Cassandra Young and this will be my first year here at Ladera. I have been teaching in Arizona for the past 12 years. I have taught kindergarten and preschool but for the past 5 years I found myself loving special education.  I have my certification in Arizona and California for Early childhood special education and elementary K-8. I love coming to work everyday to be with these unique children and to watch the amount of hard work they put in everyday with a smile.

I have been married to my husband for over 12 years and have 3 wonderful children. I have a step-daughter, Alexis, who is in 11^th grade, another daughter, Jessica, who is in 6^th grade this year and a son, Hunter, who is in 5^th grade this year. Alexis lives with her mother in Utah for school and visits us in the summer. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, Ca. I have lived in Colorado Springs, Co for 1 year and Surprise, AZ for the last 12 years. We just moved back to Orange County, August 20^th, 2011 after being offered this position.

Every day I try to walk my dog 2 miles a day and run 3-4 miles a day.  In my spare time, I love to read, go to the beach, skating, ride bikes, spend time with my family, and go to a movie.

I am very excited to be working with your child this year. I know that we will learn a lot this year while having fun.
