Welcome! My name is Debbie Smith, and I am thrilled to be joining the Ladera family! This is my 15th year of teaching in Tustin. Previously, I taught at Estock Elementary School for ten years and, before that, I taught for four years at Heideman Elementary School. I have taught first, second, and third grade as well as combinations of those grades.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and teaching credential from the University of California, Irvine. I am currently in the process of completing my GATE certification.
I have been married for seven wonderful years to my husband, Marc. We are the proud parents of an adorable son named Aaron, who will be turning two in September. We are animal lovers and also have two cats – Daisy and Rocky. In our free time, we enjoy going to the Sunday farmer’s market and have been inspired to start an edible garden in our backyard. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and shopping!
I am looking forward to a successful year that is filled with learning and fun!
