Ladera Elementary School
A Community of Learners
Ladera Elementary School is a Community of Learners. This community is comprised of teachers, students, staff, parents and the principal. In this community the goal is for all members to work together to create a positive learning environment where every student can excel. There are four main ideas in this community which lead towards the goal; student achievement, staff development, parental involvement and technology.
As an administrator, I am committed to preparing our students for a successful academic future. It is the responsibility of the principal and the teachers to provide a quality instructional program which motivates and meets the needs of each child in a positive, nurturing environment. I will work with the teachers to ensure that our students are actively engaged in their own learning and goal setting as they connect new skills, strategies and knowledge to their unique life experiences. The teachers will provide a challenging student-centered educational program to meet the individual needs of our multicultural population. We will prepare students to become life-long learners and be able to work in a diverse society. Our students will master basic skills, use critical thinking and problem solving strategies, develop communication skills and demonstrate positive social interaction.
I believe that children are best served and supported when parents and teachers work as partners. The staff and the parents will work together to enhance the home/school connection. Parental involvement in a school is an extraordinarily valuable positive feature. Families and the community will realize that their contributions are of the utmost importance to our school. Parents are invited to take on an active role in the school as classroom volunteers and members of school leadership groups, such as the Parent Teacher Organization and the School Site Council.
Working together as a community we can provide the students with a safe and secure learning environment where they can take advantage of a wide variety of resources and learning strategies.
Sincerely,
Ryan Bollenbach - Principal
