The Gifted and Talented Education is a program of qualitatively differentiated instruction, consisting of a variety of curricular options, which respond to and nurture the needs, interests, and abilities of identified students.  At Ladera Elementary School, GATE opportunities are provided in grades three, four and five.  Students are clustered in classrooms with teachers who are specially trained to meet the needs of GATE children.  Instructional strategies focus on teaching depth and complexity.  All students at every grade are ability grouped for reading and math instruction.  Teachers differentiate instruction for all students.  To learn more about GATE in the Tustin Unified School District contact the GATE office at TUSD at   (714)730-7301 ext. 334. or the district website.
