A successful school relies heavily upon involved parents. We know that all Ladera parents can get involved in some small way! There are so many fun ways to help our children's school. If any of these positions are of interest to you, please contact anyone on the current Executive Board.

EXECUTIVE BOARD RESPONSBILITIES

President Nancy Mallory. Coordinate the work of the PTO Officers and Committees. Preside at all meetings of the PTO and Executive Board. Be a member ex officio of all Committees except the Nominating Committee. Appoint the Parliamentarian and the Chairmen of Committees, subject to the ratification of the executive board. Verbally approve or sign all invoices or check requests. Be the official representative at monthly Coordinating Council meetings. Approve all newsletters, flyers, or notices and have approved by Principal prior to distribution.

1st VP, Programs and Assemblies Noreen Wong/Robin Steinmetz. Act as President in his/her absence. Preview and make recommendations for school assemblies to enhance curricular instruction. Arrange for presentation for assemblies and coordinate payment. Arrange and coordinate after school fee-based programs. Arrange and coordinate Red Ribbon Week.

2nd VP, Fundraising Janice Lee. Coordinate the Fall and Spring Fundraisers.

3rd VP, Membership Pam Edmondson/Carmel Ryan. Organize the annual membership drive. Maintain an accurate, up to date listing of all members at each meeting. Prepare and produce the PTO directory for distribution by November 15th of each year. As new families enroll, invite them to join the PTO.

4th VP, Publicity Michele Hernandez. Responsible for the monthly production of the school newsletter. Create and send weekly and periodic email blasts and maintain email data base. Maintain a record of the school’s acknowledgements, community publications and noteworthy accomplishments. Serve as a liaison between the school and District with regard to publicizing school events.

5th VP, Volunteer Coordination Tori Crummack/Mary Hajali. Create sign-up forms to be used at the back to school event and the first month of the new school year. Copy and distribute volunteer lists to the appropriate chairpersons each September. Provide guidance for copy room volunteers. Assist chairpersons in finding volunteers as needed.

Secretary Zubia Villacorta. Keep an accurate record of the proceedings (includes expenditures in addition to the budget) of all PTO meetings. Prepare a list of unfinished business for the president. Conduct correspondence of the PTO as authorized by the president or executive board.

Treasurer Pam Dixon. Keep permanent books of account and all financial records. Chair the budget committee and prepare the budget for adoption by the PTO. Handle all deposits and check requests. Pay all bills as authorized. Keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements. Keep the membership informed of expenditures as they relate to the budget. Present a treasurer’s report at every PTO general meeting and make an annual financial report.

Financial Secretary - Bini Teng. Assist the Treasurer in creating the Annual PTO Budget, and reviewing and preparing all checks and deposits on a weekly basis. Responsible for making the weekly bank deposits.

Parliamentarian Cathy Waldman. Attend all PTO meetings and give necessary advice in parliamentary procedure when requested. Call the first meeting of the nominating committee, conduct the election of the chairperson and give instructions in procedure. Chair the bylaws committee and review bylaws and standing rules, bi-annually. Ensure Board Members and Committee Chairpersons are keeping records of all applicable events and expenditures. The parliamentarian is entitled to all membership rights .
