The Art Masters Program is once again being offered by the Ladera PTO for the 2011-2012 school year. Through the Program, students are introduced to the elements of art by studying certain artists and then preparing a related hands-on art project in the classroom. Each lesson begins with an assembly presentation and discussion about the artist's life, including influences, techniques and strong elements of art exhibited in the artist’s work. The week following the assembly presentation, trained parent volunteers assist the students with an in-classroom art project that reflects each artist’s style, chosen medium and artistic techniques. The Art Masters Program will include the following artists:

October 3, 2011 - Ancient Americas

November 7, 2011 - Native American

January 9, 2012 - Joseph Raffael

February 6, 2012 - African Legacy

March 12, 2012 - Roy Lichtenstein

April 16, 2012 - Frank Lloyd Wright

In class instruction will take place the week following each lecture. For times please see schedule (coming soon).
